Our clinical nurse specialists
Our clinical nurse specialists (CNS) have specialist knowledge and experience in upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers to support you through your treatment.
The upper GI CNS provide:
- emotional support
- information about investigations, diagnosis, proposed surgery (if appropriate), chemotherapy, radiotherapy, community help, financial resources, additional available support and symptom management
- advice to patients and their families on a range of issues
- education and support to other healthcare professionals
Clinical nurse specialists can also provide a useful link between you and other hospital teams and at home.
